Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the influence of school principals' leadership on the participation level of school committee members and teacher performance. The research focuses on how leadership roles contribute to effective school management and the overall improvement of teaching quality. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was conducted by analyzing 42 journal articles published between 2014 and 2025. The review process involved identifying relevant studies, classifying key findings, and synthesizing evidence to draw comprehensive conclusions that reflect the educational context. The results indicate that principals' leadership has a positive impact on the active involvement of school committees, particularly through effective communication, participatory decision-making, and continuous empowerment. In addition, transformational leadership demonstrated by principals fosters a supportive and conducive school environment, enhances professionalism, and improves teacher performance. The findings confirm a strong positive correlation between school leadership, committee participation, and teacher performance. The implication of this study highlights the need to strengthen collaborative and transformational leadership practices to support teachers' professional growth, promote effective school governance, and ultimately improve the overall quality of education.

Author Biographies

Eko Hariyono, Universitas Negeri Malang

He was born in Banyuwangi on May 23, 1984. He obtained his Bachelor's degree in Automotive Engineering Education from Yogyakarta State University and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Educational Management at the State University of Malang. He is currently teaching at SMK Negeri 1 Tegalsari Banyuwangi, specializing in Productive Automotive Engineering.

Burhanuddin Burhanuddin, Universitas Negeri Malang

He was born in Banjarmasin on January 2, 1960. He obtained his doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in Education from the University of Adelaide in 2013 and was appointed as a Professor in Educational Management at Universitas Negeri Malang in 2022. He is currently an active lecturer and a permanent faculty member in the Department of Educational Management at Universitas Negeri Malang.

Mustiningsih Mustiningsih, Universitas Negeri Malang

She was born in Sidoarjo on May 25, 1965. She earned her doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in Educational Management from Universitas Negeri Malang in 2011. She currently serves as the Vice Dean II of the Faculty of Education at Universitas Negeri Malang and is an active lecturer in the Department of Educational Management, specializing in Educational Leadership.
